2016 RWPA BOARD MEMBERS
President– Donna Evans
Donna Evans is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal, a graduate of Tennessee Temple University with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and a graduate of the Meredith College Paralegal Program. She is currently employed by Hannah Sheridan Loughridge & Cochran, LLP as a paralegal. Prior to becoming a paralegal, Donna taught school for 20+ years. Donna is a long standing member of the RWPA, and a past Secretary and 1st Vice President of the Board of Directors. Donna is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Paralegal Division. Donna is the mother of two sons, and the “Gramma” of three adorable grandchildren!
1st VP/Membership – Kendall Rush
2nd VP/Education – Melodie Rinker
Melodie is a paralegal with The Wooten Law Firm and has provided paralegal support over the past 27 years in the areas of estate administration, estate planning, corporate and foreclosures. Melodie received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Technology, with high honors, from Durham Technical Community College. She is an Advanced Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and a Certified Paralegal with the North Carolina State Bar. Melodie is a member of RWPA, North Carolina Bar Association’s Paralegal Division and NALA. This is her first year as an officer with RWPA.
2nd VP/Education – Paulene Scott Kearney
Paulene is the Litigation Operations Manager in the Creditor’s Rights Department at Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, L.L.P. Paulene has been with the firm since 1998, where she initially started as a Recovery Agent. In 2003, Paulene completed the Paralegal Studies Program through UNC Wilmington. She has been an NC State Bar Certified Paralegal since 2007. Paulene is also currently on the board of the NC Paralegal Association and has served on the board of the RWPA for four years. Paulene has two beautiful daughters and a sweet doggie named Riley.
Secretary – Alice Johnson
Alice is an Employment and Labor Litigation and Immigration Paralegal at Jackson Lewis P.C. She has been employed as a paralegal in North Carolina since 2010. Alice has over 25 years of experience in the legal field working as both a Legal Assistant and Paralegal in Michigan before moving to North Carolina in 2008. Alice is a member of the North Carolina State Bar Association’s Paralegal Division.
Treasurer – Sue Atti
Sue Atti graduated from Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY with a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies in 2003. She has been living in North Carolina for about fifteen years, and working as a paralegal since 2004. Sue is a Certified Paralegal with North Carolina. Currently, she works for the City of Raleigh as a condemnation paralegal. Sue has previously worked in bankruptcy, collections, corporate and patent law. She is a member of the Raleigh-Wake Paralegal Association (RWPA), the North Carolina Paralegal Association, and the Research Triangle Paralegal Association (RTPA). This is Sue’s first year as an officer with RWPA.
Patron & Sustaining – Jennifer Eason
Jennifer Eason is a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants (“NALA”) and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies. She is also a graduate of the Paralegal Program at Durham Technical Community College, with an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Technology. As a Certified Paralegal, she provides support to the attorneys in the legal department at Allscripts Healthcare, LLC. Jennifer also serves as the Seminar Chair for the North Carolina Paralegal Association. This will be Jennifer’s fifth year as a board member of the Raleigh-Wake Paralegal Association.
Student Relations – Molly Moore
Molly Moore is a litigation paralegal at Brown Law, LLP, where she assists attorneys primarily in insurance defense litigation. After graduating with a B.A. in English from Ole Miss in 2009, she moved to Raleigh where she began working as a legal assistant. In 2012 she graduated from the Meredith College Paralegal Program and became a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal. This is her third year serving as a board member of the RWPA.
Parliamentarian/Historian– Cindy McGhee
Cindy McGhee is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Psychology, and a graduate of the Meredith College Paralegal Program. She is currently employed as a bankruptcy and litigation paralegal at Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, L.L.P., where she has been employed since 2001. She is on the Board of Directors of the Raleigh Wake Paralegal Association, currently serving as the Parliamentarian/Historian, is on the Council of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Paralegal Division and is the Nominations and Elections Chair of the North Carolina Paralegal Association. Cindy is also a Guardian Ad Litem, a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Junior League of Raleigh. This will be Cindy’s third year as a board member of the RWPA.
Public Relations/Job Bank – Mary Siebigteroth
Mary Siebigteroth has been employed as a paralegal in Wake Forest since 1998. Working primarily in family law and civil litigation, Mary provides both legal and administrative support to attorneys. Mary has been a member of RWPA since 2009, serving on the board as 2nd Vice President in 2011 and 2012, and is beginning her second year as Public Relations /Job Bank Committee Chair. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Paralegal Division and is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal. Mary and her husband, Pete, raised seven children and have 11 grandchildren.
Social – Stefanie Jackson
Stefanie Jackson graduated from the paralegal certification program through Duke University and currently works as a workers’ compensation paralegal for Wilson Ratledge, PLLC. This will be Stefanie’s first year serving as a board member.
Webmaster – Sarah Benton
Sarah Benton graduated with a B.A. in English from Charleston Southern University and an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Southeastern College at Wake Forest. She earned her paralegal certificate from Duke University. Currently, Sarah serves a litigation paralegal at Ragsdale Liggett, PLLC. This will be Sarah’s first year serving as a board member.
